Outfit of the Day in September

September 25, 2012

It has been a couple months since we shared an Outfit of the Day from Okayama Denim, so what better time than the peak of Fall to share with you what we've been rocking this month.
We have been busy here at Okayama Denim designing, developing and fit testing several articles of clothing that we are very excited about. The Outfit of the Day this month revolves around a new concept in the classic Men's button down shirt that we have developed for the modern man. The Buttonless button-down, as we like to call it, is cut from 5oz. Japanese Selvedge Chambray with a traditional Japanese cotton fabric acting as the trim. A wooden bead, strung on natural leather, runs through a small opening on the front of the shirt to hold the two front panels in place when worn.
Pairing with the Buttonless button-down for this month, we have the XX-011 jeans by Pure Blue Japan. The slim tapered look of these jeans compliment both the collared shirt on top, and the low profile sneakers below. The camo chukka-style shoes are by renowned Japanese retailer, United Arrows. Under the shoes we are sporting our new favorite "Made in Japan" sock company, Tabio, from where we got these amazing Native American inspired socks.
Pulling an old t-shirt out for this month, the stitched Cut and Sewn tee by PRPS from over 6 years ago in white, works well to give some color and life to the otherwise denim and camo combination. The 5-panel Selvedge denim hat, another Okayama Denim product we have been working on, will be available online soon.
Our friends from up and coming Japanese label, Aki, have been making these amazing Japanese accessories from glass beads and leather, which is where we got the black beaded necklace and two bracelets. Other accessories include Leather belt by Supreme NYC, Coin pouch by Bomboiler, and Eyewear by Muji.
