National Holidays in Japan

August 16, 2013

Every year in the middle of August, Japan has a week of national holidays during a time known as お盆 (Obon). The Obon, or Bon tradition is a period or honoring the forefathers and ancestors of one's own family. Although in more recent years Obon has become more of an opportunity to travel for Japanese people, and international ticket rates soar during the period. But many people still return to their respective hometown's and honor the special Buddhist tradition with their family.

We here at OkayamaDenim.com are hence in the midst of holidays during this week. Please note that any orders placed during this week will only be processed and shipped on Monday, August 19th, 2013. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to anyone that may have placed an order from August 11th - 18th. We appreciate your understanding!

Respect your elders. Happy Obon!
