The highly anticipated High Tapered series by Japan Blue is one of the more exciting developments coming from the JB camp this year. The new fit was developed after hearing customer feedback - compared to the JB0412, the front rise was lengthened, the thigh width was increased by several centimeters, and a more drastic taper was applied to the hem, creating a highly aesthetically pleasing silhouette, while still being comfortable. So many times we have had people request a "lifter's cut". One that gave way for bigger thighs, and larger glutes, but did not sacrifice on the narrow hem. The JB0601 is the result of applying that customer feedback, and we are convinced this pair will flatter.

The rough cotton that the United States is known for, has been used by Japan Blue to create the denim fabric of the JB0201, JB0401 and JB0701 models, and most recently the brand new release for Fall '15, the JB0601. The tough American cotton allows for the stronger yarn, as well as giving it a nice deep indigo color when dyed. The Warp yarn is rope dyed in deep indigo blue, which will give a great fade with subtle contrast over time. The vintage shuttle loom on which the fabric is woven is sped up to tighten the weave, given the already rough and rugged textile a strong finish.

Applying this classic rope dyed JB fabric to the new silhouette is a perfect match, hitting all the right details we love. Besides the obvious details coming from a pair of this calibre, new additions by the JB team like switching out the classic blue inseam stitch for a more neutral gold color and the Indigo Dyed Sashiko pocket bags really elevate this pair.

I love everything about these jeans except one thing—they're too tight! The fabric is beautiful, the measurements match the size chart perfectly, and they look great. Unfortunately, after wearing them on and off for a week fully buttoned, I don't think they're going to stretch enough to be comfortable. I had heard Japan Blue's denim didn't stretch much, but I underestimated just how little. An extra inch in the waist and they'd be perfect. Of course, this is my fault and has nothing to do with Okayama Denim. Their customer support is top notch and answered all my questions promptly and honestly, and the jeans arrived less than a week after ordering. Definitely going to order from them again. The only difference is I'll do a better job figuring out the right size next time.

I’m new into the world of raw denim. I experimented with a couple pairs from Brave Star, and although they are made quite well, the fit simply doesn’t suit my body type well. My thighs and butt are large relative to my waist size, and these Japan Blues are the perfect answer. These are the BEST jeans I’ve ever put on. Everything about these is great. The fit is just right, thanks to the high rise, little extra room in the thighs/top block, and the nice subtle taper from the knee down. For the price, I’m convinced these are the best pair of raw denim you can buy. The attention to detail is impeccable, the texture is unique, and the fact they’re made in Japan simply testifies further to how high quality these jeans are. Ordering from Okayama’s website was a dream. Free expedited shipping (from Japan to Colorado!), free hemming, and overall a completely pain-feee experience. The product arrived in perfect condition! I’ll be ordering from here again!

Okayama Denim has the best service and these jeans fit really well for athletic types. These were shipped from Japan and arrived at my place in NJ in two days, which is faster than jeans Ive ordered from NYC. The fit is really good if you like a high rise to accomodate larger thighs, but I think I'll get the lower leg tapered as the leg opening is a big large for my tastes. No issue though I usually do that with denim. Thank you Okayama Denim! (Also I used to live in Yakage, a small town outside of Kurashiki, so Okayama is a very special place to me. It is truly the epicenter of quality denim, but also just an amazing prefecture full of wonderful people!)

I don't think you can beat the value of these jeans. A hundred and thirty dollars shipped to the US is incredible, on par with Naked and Famous but a much more solid pair. I've always had trouble with jeans because, even though I am very skinny, my thighs are large relative to my waist. This is the first pair I've tried that fits well through the entire leg. I was hesitant to get them hemmed before wearing/washing, so that will be an additional cost, but the price was low to begin with.
