Available in either a Raw or One Wash denim, Pure Blue Japan's most popular and basic cut, the XX-003. The fit is a Regular Straight, but with a tapered leg opening - a modern take on the classic regular straight silhouette.

Like many of Pure Blue Japan's jeans, the fabric is of a low-tension shuttle loom, thus featuring the slubby and hairy feeling fabric common to Pure Blue Japan denim. Although this same model has been a part of the Pure Blue Japan collection for years now, the production of these jeans is constant throughout every year because the production output of the fabric is very limited.

The uniqueness of the slubby denim fabric, coupled with the small-scale production method, makes this model from the Pure Blue Japan lineup a must-have!

Really good and comfortable fit, way better for me than my "skinny" xx-005 and xx-013. A little too long, longer than the other two models I mentioned before. What I like the most is extra room in hips area. The denim is the same as my xx-005 have - rough and will fade fast.

I'm a chub with a 36 waist and the unsanforized and unwashed 38 fit adequately, if very loosely, out of the bag. After a few trial wears, just to confirm they were what I expected, I did a quick warm (110*F) soak and put them on damp. The waist is now perfect and I lost about 2 or 2.5 inches in length which is fine still for cuffing. I only soaked them in water, but was surprised at how much die came off, even in cold water (I started with a cold water soak initially). I guess that's part of getting the denim without the first wash. Overall? I'm completely satisfied and would order again. The waist came down perfectly for me with the warm soak and they feel very nice, if a bit stiff for now. These things take time! It's a very nice high-quality pair of jeans.

After I wore my xx-019 for two years straight, I longed for a loser fit mainly aroudn the calves. I know, tapered is all the rage right now, but to me it doesn't get any better than the xx-003. room in the legs and all the slub I could ever wish for. Love it! Stitch of left pocket was frayed off less than a week of usage. It is not an issue of Okayama Denim, and it is the quality control problem of Pure Blue Japan. Okayama Denim’s hemming service is perfect and Five Stars. I have had a lot of bad hemming experience with other shops, especially in the US.
