To commemorate this milestone, we've teamed up once again with our good friends at Glen Clyde, the makers behind Chup, to develop an exclusive series of socks that brings together our shared appreciation for traditional Japanese patterns and design.

The OD+CP Kakishibu Patchwork Sashiko Socks are the result of a collaborative design process that saw us working closely with Glen Clyde's designers to explore the history and symbolism of traditional Sashiko textiles in Japan. Through studying generations of geometric motifs and carefully considering how different patterns would complement one another, we developed a distinctive patchwork arrangement that brings several traditional designs together in a single composition. For this version, the Kakishibu socks take a warm approach to color depth, drawing on the earthy hues traditionally associated with persimmon dyeing.

Adding another personal touch to the collaboration is the original packaging wrap, featuring original artwork by OD's in-house artist, Ria. Drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese patterns and Ainu-inspired motifs, Ria incorporated flowing, swirling shapes alongside dashed lines that reference Sashiko stitching. The playful lettering reads "クツシタ" (Kutsushita), meaning "socks" in Japanese, with the characters themselves reimagined to complement the surrounding artwork.
