Although usually cut and crafted from Nylon, this version of an Indigo Ripstop fabric from Samurai is 100% cotton. Cotton will yield the desired fading over time, and it is of course easier to dye in Indigo, hence the obvious option for a 100% cotton in this case. 

The base fabric is Kasezome dyed (skein dyed) using Natural Indigo. Compared to standard ripstop fabrics, this material has a more pronounced texture, stiffness, and thickness, all of which contribute to a shirt that is both visually striking and incredibly durable. The characteristic grid-like pattern of ripstop fabric enhances its strength, making it perfect for long-term wear.

One of the defining features of this shirt is its distinctive puckering effect, which results from intentionally avoiding the use of efficient double-needle wrap sewing machines.
