Momotaro usher in 2022 with a fabric that embraces a cultural icon of Japan that is loved across the globe. Japanese Green Tea, or お茶 (Ocha) in Japanese, is seldom seen as a dye that can be applied to fabrics. With a panache for the unconventional and production prowess, Momotaro have managed to defy the rules and produce a Sashiko fabric donning a stunning Beige/Chino hue, thanks to the Green Tea dye that the Peach Boys have freshly brewed for the New Year. Taking one of their classic Type II Jackets motifs, the combination with this fabric is simply killer.

The pants and jacket to this release have become one of my most favorite pieces from Okayama Denim. Loved how they smelled like (and came with) actual tea from the manufacturer. The sashiko is so soft to touch. Love the fit. So much detail goes into these releases. It's insane. 10/10. Thanks so much.

Momotaro are definitely my go-to for type 1’s and 2 jackets, really seem to fit nicely (I’m a 40 in Momo jackets, though 40 in their shirts do come up a bit tight on me) . This sashiko fabric is thicker than I thought it would be and currently I’m wearing it as layering and it’s definitely adding some warmth. Also the green tea smell hits you when you first get it out of the bag :-) Definitely glad I purchased this on the second release as I was kicking myself for not getting it first time around. As always, GREAT customer service from OD (Ryo) as well. Highly recommended

In general, it's a perfect fit for me, I'm a short dude and it just fit so well. I didn't like the leather patch compared to the pant version that collab with Okayama though. Okayama collabs are just on a different level.

Amazing jacket. A 46 equates to an American XL and still has room for light layering underneath. It is very comfy with pockets placed nicely. The color in the pictures do not do it justice, it is a beautiful shade. To top it off, it still has a faint smell of the tea leaves used to die the garment (lovely smell).

This jacket has the attention to detail and high quality craftsmanship that is synonymous with Momotaro. It is a beautiful work of art. The Sashiko fabric is thicker than I expected, which makes it even more impressive that they were able to construct a functional and highly durable Type II jacket without sacrificing quality. The patina of the hardware is a nice touch and combined with the dye, which is darker in some areas than others, creates a brilliant, yet subtle, hue that contrasts with the details of the fabric, giving it more depth and character. The Ochazome Type II Sashiko Jacket fits exactly how I expected with the exception of being .5” shorter in the chest. The best part about it is that it smells like green tea! Shipping went door to door in 48 hours. And, as always, the folks and Okayama Denim helped to delivery a classic that will stay with me for life.
