Unlike traditional herringbone fabrics, this fabric is produced on a cotton jersey sweat machine, incorporating a herringbone pattern within the knit rather than through weaving. Standard sweatshirt fabrics typically use a three-yarn construction, but this cardigan utilizes a two-yarn structure, making it softer, lighter, and more wearable year-round. The high-tension face of the fabric enhances the herringbone effect, while the inlay fabric features "zero-twist" yarn, reducing the natural twisting and deformation that occurs with conventional cotton jersey over time.
Designed with a 1950's cardigan motif, this garment integrates distinct vintage sweatshirt elements, such as ribbing along the back torso and binder neck ribbing extending down the front plackets. Functional details include double-needle seam construction for durability, dropped shoulders for improved ergonomics, and a ribbed back hem to enhance the fit and structure. These refinements create a well-balanced regular fit, making the cardigan highly versatile for layering or standalone wear.
