Taking vintage Japanese fabrics and marrying them with great pieces of vintage Americana is part of SDA's DNA and this piece is no different.
The original screen-printed indigo-dyed fabric body was developed by taking several patches of Japanese garments dating back as far as the Meiji era and piecing them together to create the patchwork pattern seen throughout this piece.
The design of the jacket is based on boa-lined jackets from the 1970s with herd-sheep body lining and quilted cotton sleeves for extra warmth and comfort.
During the wash process, a very small amount of beige coating was added to emphasize the antique look of this jacket.
