Like many of Pure Blue Japan's jeans, the fabric is of a low-tension shuttle loom, thus featuring the slubby and hairy feeling fabric common to Pure Blue Japan denim. The NP's specifically feature a ton of Nep while still carrying absurd slub levels we have come to expect from the brand. The production of these jeans are constant through out every year in several different batches because the production output of the fabric is very limited.

I got the raw version, and after two soaks (one luke warm, one warm) can tell you that the first soak in luke warm water was enough to get all the shrink out of it. It stretches out in the waist, and a bit in the waist after the soak. After a week of wear, they seem like fast faders as well. The nep and hair is off the charts on these. They feel lighter than 18oz, due to the looser weave.

Amazing customer service and amazing raw unsanforized denim! I went for one size bigger / I’m 69kg and 178cm and size 31 was just a bit ooose. I wanted to make up for any shrinkage by going .5-1 inch more in waist and I recognize that I could’ve gone true to size. If you’re a bit skinny, even better go true to size with confidence. I soaked them three times so far, the last one was at about 60 degrees Celsius water. This is my first pair of raw unsanforized but won’t be my last. They feel super authentic and is almost as getting a piece of the passion of the denim artisan who stitched your jeans together! Worth every penny, wear them like you mean it! Thanks OD and PBJ.

Hi, this is my third raw jeans, first from Pure Blue Japan. Let's beginn with the quality, which is excellent, the denim feels really raw. The tapered (but still classic)fit it is which i was seeking for long time. After I made a lot of measurements before buying, I can say the jeans fits exactley how I imagined it, and I am sure after washing will fit also the right way. To be honest until now I wore only sanforised, or previously, one washed (Levi's) jeans, but after I've discowered Japanese raw denim jeans I don't want another ones. (just like cars :) ). I didn't wore the pair of PBJ jeans yet, because first I want to shorten them. I have to read some documetation about how much pecisely gonna shorten the inseam after thew first wash, than seek a good taylor who will make the proper tayloring to the length that I like. I am 1,82 m Tall and weight 72 kg. I have long legs but 36 " inseam is too long for me. I don't like to turn the hem inside out over the legs so I just want to cut them befor wearing.
