After the explosive popularity of the original XX-18oz-013s that first dropped back in 2016 (it was only in the Slim Tapered because this was before the Relax Tapered was conceptualized!), we had requested this same fabric or a similar fabric to be produced. Production delays due to the growing demand for factory space in Okayama from international brands coupled with a catastrophic typhoon that hit Okayama in 2018, we never saw the elusive XX-18oz-013 again. With operations back to normal again at the factory and the machine that produces all of PBJs Selvedge denim, we began to see a couple iterations of the original 18oz's, like the Double Indigo version as well as the Indigo x Black version.

Constantly on a quest to keep things fresh, PBJ opted to switch up the yarns of the original 18oz. composition, in an attempt to maintain that super slubby hand feel while making the jeans a touch more wearable. While still featuring that crazy texture we've come to expect from the Slub Masters, the new SLB (you guessed it, acronym for Slub) jeans set a new standard for the PBJ brand.
