The fabric for this tee is constructed tediously on a Loopwheel machine based in Wakayama, Japan. Due to the intensity of producing a high-gauge weave, a loopwheel machine can only produce a maximum of 48cm per hour. The resulting fabric is supremely soft and breathable, and while being quite thick does not stretch as much as your average tee.
Paying homage to Japanese culture, the back print features an original "Ranji" motif. Ranji designs were historically used on tea boxes being exported from the country, and contained a mix of Japanese ukiyoe and English script. This design style is still passed on today, and is heralded as the forerunner of Japanese graphic design.
