What started out as a wholesome April Fool’s joke back in 2023 has resulted in Samurai producing a truly fan-driven heavyweight flannel development for FW’24. The “April Truth” project gave fans the chance to submit their own patterns and colorways, and after narrowing down the choices to 10 designs and over 500 votes later, the winner was selected for production.

For this year’s flannel addition, the unique colors used in the design draw inspiration from Japan’s historical use of natural dyes, such as indigo, persimmon, mud and sumi ink, with undyed yarns representing Samurai’s “Homemade” organic cotton.
