Studio D'Artisan "Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido" Original Aloha Shirt

This shirt is a bit thicker than other Hawaiian shirts that I have tried, though my experience is limited. It seemed thicker but neither warmer nor more unpleasant to wear even under harsh summer conditions. The buttons are charming but plain; however the print and its microcosm of Feudal Japanese pigs, pays homage both to the mascot of Studio D'Artisan and the classic scenes found on old Hawaiian shirts albeit with a more Japanese take on the scenes. The denim scene at the time of writing this is obsessed with these shirts and almost all do classic tigers, cranes and other such markedly Asian themed patterns. Studio D'Artisan instead takes this shirt to its roots while infusing their own originality to create something that is uniquely their own. It shall remain alluring both to the wearer and those lucky enough to trace the mini stories in its' pastiches for far longer than either would expect.
