Developed in the early 20th century, “Bourgeron” linen fabrics were used in French work and military wear. Known for its uneven herringbone weave, thick weight and elastic texture; this fabric was made to endure the harshest environments and conditions that were thrown at it.
Taking an original sample pair of Bourgeron pants from this period, SDA have gone above and beyond to develop their latest “Heritage Reproduction” fabric. While the original fabrics were made from linen, SDA have taken an indigo 100% cotton yarn and by combining the weft threads with two types of uneven threads with different counts have near-replicated the original texture and characteristics of the Bourgeron fabric.
Taking cues from early 20th century American work wear, SDA have created a pair of jeans and a coverall to celebrate a special fabric from a bygone era.
