A traditional tote, if you will, the Kinchaku (巾着) is closely woven into Japanese Kimono culture as a ubiquitous accessory. A bag used to embellish an outfit, but also carry the daily necessities as kimono famously lack pockets, SDA reimagine a classic Kinchaku using a storied fabric.

Traditionally in Japan, Kimono were worn as everyday clothing with fabrics carefully selected so as to suit the seasonal changes through-ought the year. Fabrics ranged greatly, with intricate patterns and dyeing techniques giving each garment a unique look and texture that allowed each wearer to stand out from one another. Fast forward to the modern-era and wearing Kimono has taken somewhat of a backseat in the everyday sense. Stepping in to revive and breathe new life into these timeless fabrics, SDA have collected antique Kimonos of a foregone era and painstakingly created several garments and accessories as part of their new "Kimono" series.
