Outfit of the Day in January

January 21, 2013

The start of a new year, and another frigid month of January to deal with here in Japan, our Outfit of the Day in January is all about keeping warm - in style of course!
Starting from the core, this month we have featured a pair of raw denim by none other than Okayama heavyweights, Momotaro Jeans. The 0701 Vintage Label jeans by Momotaro have been a best seller recently for us. Reason being the classic slim fit of the jeans coupled with the beautiful 100% Zimbabwe cotton that the Selvedge denim is made from, make these a popular choice for shoppers at OkayamaDenim.com.
With the need to stay warm through these extremely cold days, we have here a Pullover sweatshirt by the upcoming Canadian brand, Reigning Champ. This 'Made in Canada' piece is actually a collaboration with famed Japanese retailer, United Arrows Beauty & Youth, and even the fit has been tapered slightly to adjust to the Japanese figure.
Another garment we couldn't get through this month without, is the North Face Purple Label x nanamica Mix Color Mountain Parka (North Face Purple Label is a Japan exclusive line of North Face - nanamica is a popular Japanese brand). And of course you have to keep your head warm through these months - so why not do it in support of natural indigo? The PBJ Indigo Quilt Beanie is a new piece we just received in stock this month.
The heather gray T-shirt with the purple print of the continent of Africa, amongst other powerful imagery, is an old piece by none other than the revered (and now defunct) Manhattan label, Nom de Guerre. How we wish their store on Broadway, below the Swatch store, was still around!
Bringing back another part of this outfit from years ago, we have the original FBTs by Visivim here in Navy Blue. To offset the blue, we chose a special pair of Holidays-inspired socks by our favorite 'Made in Japan' socks brand, Tabio.
We recently have started to use the Momotaro Denim Pocket Pouch to carry all our money and change in for convenience sake, and it has been treating us very well! Other items include a Leather belt cut from Tochigi Leather (Japanese Leather maker) made by our friends from Bomboiler, and what has now become a mainstay for our outfits - Glass beads strung on natural leather Made in Hiroshima, Japan by Aki brand.
