Outfit of the Day in October

October 30, 2013

We were expecting to break out our leather and down jackets by this time this year, but the cold weather has surprisingly yet to hit us in these parts of Japan. We are not complaining though, as the pleasant weather allows us to thoroughly enjoy the outdoors.

Given the consistent pleasant weather, the Outfit of the Day this month does not include any outerwear that would be otherwise expected in October. This month, we revolve the outfit around the new Native Blanket Shirt by Momotaro Jeans ($175, Available soon). The 100% heavy cotton shirt, featuring large white plastic buttons, is thick enough to comfortably keep you warm during a chilly Fall night. The fabric also features an exceptional mixed pattern print.

The bottoms that are featured this month come by way of Pure Blue Japan who have created this beautiful Cobalt Blue color Selvedge denim jeans with a Slim Tapered cut for those who dig the modern silhouettes. The jeans, the XX-017 ($295, Available soon), are a beautiful addition to the already interesting and expansive line of unique denim that Pure Blue Japan have become known for.

To accompany the outfit, we chose to include the Camo Smartphone Case by Momotaro Jeans ($30, Available soon), and our favorite leather coin pouch cut from Tochigi Leather and Made in Japan by our friends from Bomboiler Leather Company. Other items include an Indigo dyed 5-panel hat by Rag & Bone New York, and a Red/Black Native Made in Japan bracelet composed of glass beads from Hiroshima and leather from Tochigi.

Finally, a great outfit is never complete without a great pair of shoes, and this month our outfit is no exception. We have featured here the Nike Flyknit Racer Multicolor, that made waves in the sneaker world this past summer when they dropped. We pair these unique sneakers with socks from our favorite Made in Japan brand for socks, Tabio.
