Outfit of the Day in January

February 01, 2014

January has been cold to say the least, not only for us in Japan, but surely in many parts of the world. We are still trying to figure out what a polar vortex is to be honest, not to joke about the drastic weather situations in the United States for example. So in order to stay warm, what better protection than a heavy weight Naval Peacoat by The Real McCoy's. This peacoat is probably amongst the heaviest available on the market for a jacket in this class, with overspec features like oversized 13 star buttons, and corduroy lined pockets.

Our focus though, as always, is in the jeans. This month we bring out the AI-001, the holygrail of premium Japanese Selvedge, Natural Indigo Dyed jeans. The AI-001 was the first model of Natural Indigo Jeans PBJ experimented with, and we stand by this classic piece. The fabric is really indescribable, with gorgeous inconsistencies and Nep that would make any real denim nerd smile. Another piece from our store in this month's outfit is the Japan Blue Indigo Discharge Floral Shirt that brings a beautiful reoccurring floral pattern in white. The beautiful tone of indigo on this shirt is contrasted in style with the white stitching.

Paired with a classic pair of Made in USA Red Wing 6" Work Boots and a pair of Made in Japan socks by Tabio, the outfit is everything we love - clean and classic. Adding to the classic look is a Natural Cowhide Leather belt by Tanner Goods in Portland, and the Cockpit Aviator Sunglasses are by none other than Ray-Ban. Finally, our favorite glass beads necklace coming by way of Aki, and our favorite coin pouch by our friends at Bomboiler.
