An OD+SDA Collaboration | The "Kasezome" Indigo Sashiko Selvedge 6-panel Baseball Cap

July 28, 2021

One of our most requested collaboration items is about to make a comeback. Working closely with Osaka OG's Studio D'Artisan, we are stoked to launch version 2.0 of the "Kasezome" Indigo Sashiko Selvedge 6-Panel Baseball Cap.
To date, SDA's "Kasezome" Indigo Sashiko is one of the brand's most coveted fabrics. Ticking all the boxes, few brands have been able to create a Sashiko fabric as heavyweight, lustrous and refined as SDA’s proprietary weave.
Kasezome is the art of skein dyeing, a hand dyeing method by wrapping undyed yarns into a loose coil and dipping them into a vat of Indigo (in this instance). The yarns are dyed to the core while still retaining their original texture, a feat only possible when the yarns are meticulously dyed by hand.
Thanks to everyone's feedback following the initial release of the cap back in 2019, we have refined the fit of this new iteration. By beefing up the room in the crown of the hat, expect to find a much more spacious dome.
Taking cues from our Bomber Jacket which features the same Kasezome Indigo Sashiko fabric, we decided to add the same Gold Rayon lining for the piping to add a well deserved touch of luxe.
In tandem with the heavyweight Sashiko fabric, the adjustable strap features an extra durable metal fastener.
The signature OD red and white stitched eyelets remains unchanged for this year's release. Not only representative of the OD logo, the red and white pay homage to the colors of the Japanese flag.
It wouldn't be an OD collab without the artistic touch by our good friend Nathan Spoor, who unleashed his best freehand skills to conjure up this original design. Taking cues from the Japanese rising sun flag, we switched out the colors to a silver and blue, to celebrate 10 years in the Japanese Denim game.
The OD+SDA "Kasezome" Indigo Sashiko Selvedge 6-panel Baseball Cap drops on 7/29 @ Midnight (JST)
