Japan's Golden Week Holidays for 2026

Starting April 29th, we will be heading off for the annual week of holidays in Japan.

Golden Week (ゴールデンウィーク) is Japan's longest national holiday period, lasting from late April into early May. This week-long stretch of holidays makes it one of the three major travel seasons in Japan alongside New Year and Obon, and the entire country effectively pauses. Schools close, most offices shut down, and millions of Japanese take to the roads, railways, and airports for domestic and international travel. During this time, the entire country takes off from work and school, making it the most popular time for travel.

For us here at Okayama Denim, it is a welcome chance to recharge and spend time with family and friends before returning for the busy months ahead. The OD team will be taking the week off during this time, and we will be back to our regularly scheduled program on May 7th.
