Every now and then, a new denim brand appears that doesn’t feel the need to shout about itself. No flashy gimmicks, no absurd social media theatrics - just the quiet confidence that if you make something properly, people will notice. Omoto Denim, our latest addition to the OD roster, is precisely that sort of brand.
The name "Omoto" comes from a resilient Japanese plant that carries on growing with very little fuss. It’s an apt choice, because the denim is designed in much the same way: not fragile fashion pieces, but durable companions that improve the longer you live with them. Think less “showpiece” and more “old friend”.
At the heart of Omoto is the denim which has been milled on vintage Sakamoto looms from the 1950s. The fabric is comprised of a bi-blend of Memphis and Zimbabwean cotton, an amalgamation of toughness and softness. The resulting denim bursts with texture and has a crisp hand feel. Rope-dyed in pure indigo, the warp yarns exhibit a deep blue hue with the core remaining undyed to guarantee beautiful fading down the line. The jeans are sensibly cut with three variations of a straight cut ranging from wide to just a touch slim.
Supporting this lineup of Omoto's denim we also welcome in a curation of the brand's tops and accessories that are infused with their sensible design philosophy, unbeatable construction and great fabrics to boot.
