  • Loop & Weft Heather Slub Fleece Sweatpants

Fleece terminology gets thrown around a lot, so what is Slub Fleece all about? Typically when it comes to fleece material used for sweat fabrics, the most common tends to be cotton or "cotton blended" fleece. In general you can expect these types of fabrics to have a smooth finish with a plush inner.
Slub fleece is what gives sweat fabrics that boost to texture without compromising comfort. To do this, two different size yarns are twisted to achieve that well needed slub factor. In this particular case, Loop & Weft apply a 30/10 fleece pile cotton material and by employing special spinning methods the production yields an inconsistent yet über soft hand feel.
  • The inlay of the fabric features a unique three-row jump pile fleece, mimicking the uneven loop arrangement often found on vintage fleece material. These specialized production methods used by Loop & Weft also guarantee durability. Along with minimal shrinkage, the impeccably constructed fabric of these sweatpants help to retain the silhouette over multiple wears and washes.
As is the case with all Loop & Weft garments, the construction is all conducted on vintage sewing machinery that is oftentimes incredibly rare, even in Japan. A Union Special 4-needle flat seamer machine commands all the seam construction, a facet of vintage construction that allows for increased seam allowance, thus adding to the comfort element of this piece.
  • Featuring ribbed cuffs constructed using a triple needle lockstitch machine, the elevated sewing guarantees temporary malleability while still maintaining the form over a long period of wear.
  • Paying homage to Military sweatpants common amongst service during and after WWII, the fit has been updated from the vintage base to provide a more modern silhouette. The addition of the crotch gusset construction adds that ergonomic touch, while providing space for a roomy top block.
A vintage specific construction detail borrowed from European Military-issued Sweatpants, the addition of half-moon thigh pockets to elevate the functionality of this piece. The 4-needle flat seam construction also accentuates the already unique aesthetic of these pockets.
    Available in Gray and Olive

Studio D'Artisan Suvin Gold L/S Henleys

First time hearing about Suvin Gold cotton? Here's the low-down. Renowned as one the highest-quality premium cottons in the world, Suvin Gold combines a long staple cotton yarn with a very thin fiber width. This paves the way for shuttle-ready yarns that are supremely soft, yet highly sturdy. Another unmistakable characteristic of this type of cotton is the lustrous sheen it gives to the fabric face.
A staple (pun intended) in SDA's stellar lineup, the brand's Suvin Gold L/S Henleys are a league above your everyday base layer. Luxurious in both fabric and construction, each piece is adorned with a brass pentagon button opening. Versatile as heck, these are available in three colorways, with the Heather Navy version joining the ranks for S/S 2022.
Available in Heather Navy, Mock Black and Mock Gray

Studio D'Artisan Loopwheel Tees

We get asked all the time what our go-to, simple Tee option is. Here it is. SDA nails that perfect formula between no-nonsense simplicity and a top-of-the-line fabric base. It's thanks to the few factories based in Wakayama that are still able to produce these loopwheel fabrics, that SDA have continued to bring their pack tees to the table.
Spinning and milling a Loopwheel cotton fabric is an extremely meticulous process, with the circular knitting machines taking around 1 hour to produce just a single meter of fabric. The beauty of Loopwheel comes from this tedious production method. Milling at this slower speed results in a more durable fabric that is less elastic than conventional cotton jersey and will maintain its shape over time.
Available in Black, White and Emerald
