Before I purchased this jacket, I had the Momotaro Type 2 but without the hand warmer pockets and with the Battle stripes and it’s one of my favorites but I I always wanted one with hand warmer pockets and a it to be a little more subtle without the battle stripes, so here was my opportunity, and I got why I wanted and even more such as 1) Limited production run 2) A absolutely gorgeous stunning neppy denim 3) a wool liner/ corduroy collar
The only thing that may not be absolutely perfect is maybe a slightly larger collar -but- this will age so well, it feels and looks luxury and high end and I feel a little extra special when wearing, highly recommended

This is a beautiful jacket. The Nep denim looks even better in person and all of the small/not so small details found around each flap or anywhere you look add up to make this a very special piece. That being said, the cut is so off from any other type “x” jacket I’ve tried. I am 6’, 195lbs, athletic build: I have a 112cm chest and 89cm waist. With this, the posted jacket dimensions just didn’t look right in my usual size range of ~40-42 or smaller so I had to take a best guess. Based on my chest measurement (the size I usually fall back to because I don’t want to feel constricted mobility when wearing thick denim) I chose 42 here but the sleeves are way too long and had to get them adjusted by 1” which helped a lot. In the back the fabric somehow pulls up and bunches behind my shoulders even just standing straight but other than that feels comfortable. If the chest was smaller, I wouldn’t be able to close the buttons. I am hoping that after the first wash it will shrink to a good fit but I’m not entirely confident. Just as a reference, this isn’t my first selvedge denim jacket and I’ve had good fits without any modification from other brands such as Oni so this bad fit experience is new to me. Really love this jacket just but I wish the fit was a bit better. What can I say, I guess that’s why you can’t beat clothing tailored to fit, but either way I don’t regret having this piece in my closet..

Gorgeous jacket. Warm enough for chilly weather. It has so many great details. You can just feel the quality on it. I wouldn't be afraid to size up, it is decently snug. I'm 5'8" 150 lbs and 38 fits slim for reference. It's already faded quite nicely and I'm very pleased with it. In future iterations I'd love to see the momotoro stripes on the front pockets.

I have not stopped getting compliments while wearing this jacket ever since I started wearing it. It is very thick and soft, which already makes it easy to wear in cold.
Do make sure to double and triple check your measurements as the sleeves are a little bigger, and the length is a little smaller than what I am used to.
The details alone make this jacket worth it. It stands out as something different compared to what other denim jackets look like. My only complaint is that it does take a while to break into and as mentioned before the sizing both of which are not deal breakers.

My wife bought me this ODMomotaro jacket for Christmas. It is substantially heavier, thicker, and stiffer than the Momotaro 12.5oz jacket that I bought several years ago. It is also slightly longer, both in the sleeves and body as the older Momotaro jacket, although they are both size 38 and Type 2.
There are so many interesting little details, some you can see, some you can't. I think this jacket will take a very long time to break in, and I will enjoy every moment of it!

This thing is dope. Much warmer than my type two Momotaro without the blanket lining.
I can wear this in Japanese winter (so far) with just a tshirt underneath.
I’d say it fits pretty close with arms a bit longer than my other momo, but no prob for me as have long arms.

Another addition from OD and I am couldn't be more satisfied. I love the peach details on the jacket. While the fit is still rather snug and tight, it is very warm. I look forward to breaking it in over time. Love my RARE Jeans and love the NEP SELVEDGE Jacket. What's next...

This is the perfect Type 2 Denim jacket. I love neppy denim, but the corduroy collar and blanket lining make this jacket a 'lifer'. It is more beautiful when you actually wear it, than the photos online show. OD set the standard with this coat !
