Making use of leftover yarns from the denim manufacturing process, Big John's Indigo Dyed Heavyweight Crew Socks offer a thoughtful approach to reducing textile waste while celebrating the character of traditional Japanese knitwear.

Produced using vintage Japanese knitting machines dating back to the 1980s, the socks are knitted slowly to create a substantial, loosely textured fabric with a distinctive, rustic appearance. The relaxed knitting process gives the material a naturally uneven character, while the contrasting stripes lend the socks a classic, understated look.

Each sock then undergoes a tedious garment-dyeing process, creating a variegated set of indigo hues that fade beautifully, like a pair of jeans over time.
