The Japan Blue 16oz Type 1 Selvedge Jacket is a substantial take on the classic first-generation denim jacket, combining a heavyweight construction with a distinctive natural warmth. Woven from a 16oz. Selvedge denim, it uses brown cotton for the warp, retaining the fibre's natural earthy tone, while the weft is packed to an exceptionally high density to create a firm, structured hand.

As the jacket is worn, the brown cotton produces a warmer, more nuanced fade than conventional white-cotton denim, adding depth and character to the fabric over time. The denim is finished with a one-wash treatment, retaining much of its original stiffness and texture while making it more approachable from the outset.

The silhouette is deliberately roomy, with a wide boxy body, slightly dropped shoulders and generous sleeves. Deeper rear pleats add volume and structure through the back, creating a three-dimensional shape that gives this Type 1 jacket a relaxed, substantial presence.
