Ajiro is a quintessentially Japanese weave that involves delicately weaving thin strips of bamboo and was historically used to make baskets. Every day articles created using this particular type of wickerwork were considered indispensable by those who used them - with the pattern even being regarded as auspicious. Heralded as a weave that will attract happiness and protect everything precious for the user - Studio D'Artisan has created from the ground up their latest "Ajiro Denim" series for 2023.
By combining different weave structures in this particular denim prior to performing a factory wash on the garment, the shrinkage results in a particularly uneven texture giving a three-dimensional look to the fabric.
