The Samurai S310BRX "Kanoko" is a 15oz. brown denim interpretation of the brand's super-wide 310 silhouette, inspired by the graceful appearance of the Japanese Sika deer.The Sika deer has long been associated with summer in Japan, appearing as a traditional seasonal reference in Japanese poetry. Its gentle yet noble character has also seen it revered as a messenger of the gods since ancient times. Samurai draws on this imagery for the "Kanoko" denim, translating the warm brown tones of the deer into a substantial selvedge fabric.

Rather than using indigo, the denim is dyed with a vat dye that is designed to age within its original color family, without the shifts in tone that can sometimes occur with indigo depending on exposure to the weather and environment. The fading is therefore more restrained than traditional indigo denim, but areas of abrasion will still develop natural contrast and character with wear.The fabric itself is woven from 100% Texas cotton slub yarn, with nep added during weaving to give the fabric an irregular surface and a distinctly textured appearance.
