The Soundman “Albany” is a signature jacket inspired by an unusual transitional design from U.S. military history. Its starting point is a test-sample Jungle Fatigue Jacket believed to have been produced during the period when the U.S. Army was developing its more modern counterpart - The BDU (Battle Dress Uniform). Unlike the more familiar Jungle Fatigue, this experimental version featured square-shaped pockets, which Soundman has retained as the defining feature of the design.
The jacket keeps the original four-pocket layout while adding a few practical refinements. The lower gusseted pockets incorporate hand-warmer openings, while a drawcord concealed inside the rear waist allows the fit to be adjusted and the silhouette pulled in when desired. A detachable chin warmer sits behind the collar, and the jacket is finished with natural corozo nut buttons.
The jacket features a high-density military moleskin woven from U.S. cotton yarns. The surface is heavily singed to remove excess fuzz, resulting in a dense, dry and rugged texture with a clean surface.
