Taking inspiration from the US military's M-43 cargo pants, commonly referred to as "Monkey Pants", Soundman's "Wilmot" offers a distinctive interpretation of classic military workwear, bringing together American utility and British naval influences.

The design combines the characteristic cargo pockets of the M-43 with the exceptionally wide waistband found on vintage British Royal Navy overtrousers. The signature rear cargo pockets have also been reworked with a practical double-entry construction, allowing access from above as well as through the conventional pocket openings.

For the fabric, Soundman has opted for a heavyweight moleskin woven from American cotton. The surface undergoes an intensive singeing process to remove excess fibres and minimise unwanted fuzziness, resulting in a dense, rugged fabric with a clean finish that complements the pants' military origins.
