Fullcount have established themselves as one of the elder brands in Japanese Selvedge Denim history, with close to 30 years of innovation in the scene. Their regular lineup 13.7oz. Jeans are regarded as era-accurate recreations of the vintage Levis models from a bygone era, with the fabric and details coming under the highest degree of scrutiny by the Osaka-based brand.
Fresh for 2021, Fullcount have adopted a unique approach to make their Jeans more accessible to Denimheads around the world, with the introduction of their "Choice" Selvedge Jeans lineup. The concept is simple, each pair retains the revered Zimbabwean cotton Denim Fabric that is featured on their regular lineup Jeans, with a few adjustments to the details to ensure a very reasonable sub-$200 USD price tag.
One thing that had taken us slightly aback was the mention of organic cotton, as you can see on the flasher above. While Zimbabwean cotton and Fullcount have almost always gone together hand-in-hand, the use of organic cotton had not once been mentioned before. It was only after inquiring with the brand directly, did they confirm for us that their 13.7oz. Selvedge Denim fabric has always used organically grown cotton, sourced from Zimbabwe.
A few differences to their regular lineup Jeans should be noted. The back pocket construction does not feature hidden rivets, while the leather patch has been replaced with a paper patch. Additionally, corespun threading has been used for the stitching construction of the jeans.
A true classic in Fullcount's silhouette lineup, the 1101 cut is featured with a very spacious top block and straight leg. For those wishing to try out the true vintage Raw Denim experience, look no further.
