The PBJ Selvedge train keeps on rollin' as we bask in the glory of new hues that the Slub Masters continue to cook up for 2021. A totally fresh development for this year, PBJ have worked from the ground up their 13oz. Broken Twill Selvedge Series. Following up from the initial release of the Black Indigo x Gray version of the same weave, the latest Indigo x Gray models join the ranks of their Broken Twill brethren. Available in two cuts and made to be worn year-round, these lighter weight jeans are ready to be shredded at your discretion.

Dissecting the Broken Twill Weave

We can thank the folks at Wrangler back in the 1960s for first developing this type of weave, As a means to minimize the leg-twist that resulted from unsanforized jeans being soaked. Open up the weave rulebook and you will see that "conventional" weaves are either right or left-hand twill. After burning their copy of the rulebook, Wrangler came up with a weave that alternates from left to right on every two warp ends, creating the zig-zag aesthetic that Denimheads around the world have come to love.

If you're in need of a new of a fade project to keep you occupied this year and beyond, the unique Indigo x Gray combination will let you experience double the fading potential. Like a set of stormy clouds on the horizon, the gray weft will start to work its way into the sea of indigo as you work those fades.

The Relax Tapered Cut

We like to call this PBJ's "Best of both worlds" cut.

While don't need to be a weightlifter or a keirin cyclist to appreciate this silhouette, if you do have larger thighs or just fancy extra room in the top block while you're on the move, the -019 has your name on it.

The beauty of this cut is the taper is absolutely still part of the equation and the resulting aesthetic is well and truly clean and modern.

The Regular Straight Cut

That being said, if you still yearn for that 20th century American workwear look - grab yourself a pair of the -003s.

The true classic of PBJ's silhouette lineup, the Regular Straight combines a roomy and straight leg with a lengthy inseam so you can show off that Supacuff™ with attitude.

Both models will be available in raw and one wash. While these will stretch a bunch, grab yourself a one wash pair if you shudder at the thought of doing the soak yourself and getting it wrong.
