Beneath the design of this tee lies one of The Flat Head’s signature technical achievements: the “three-needle, one-off” neck construction. Inspired by vintage American tees and refined through the brand’s own experimentation, this method employs thick No. 20 cotton thread stitched in three passes - two along the rib and one along the body. The result is a neckline that resists stretching even after years of wear.

The fabric itself is woven using one of Japan’s few remaining circular knitting machines from the 1960s, known as Maru-ami-ki. The THC series uses robust 14-count cotton yarns, exceptionally thick by T-shirt standards.
