"Kasane no Irome" (かさねの色目) is a classical Japanese color sensibility that finds beauty in the layering of hues, reading depth, season, and emotion through the subtle interaction of colors placed one upon another. Rather than a single solid tone, it is the relationship between colors that creates meaning. Studio D'Artisan has brought this philosophy directly into their latest denim series with two layered dye combinations applied to a 12oz. natural slub base fabric.

These jeans feature a combination of Kakishibu (persimmon) dye over a foundation of deep indigo blue, producing a tonal richness that feels earthy and rustic to begin with. Over time, the Kakishibu dye will react with sunlight and air, causing the color to deepen and develop a distinctive patina.
