Bringing together two of Scotland's most recognizable textile traditions, Chup's "Scottish" Socks offer a playful interpretation of classic Fair Isle knitting and tartan check patterns.

Both Fair Isle and tartan have long been associated with Scottish textile heritage, each possessing its own distinctive character and approach to pattern. Fair Isle is celebrated for its intricate, repeating geometric motifs, while tartan is immediately recognizable for its intersecting checks. Although both are deeply rooted in Scottish tradition, their visual identities are remarkably different.

The Scottish design explores what happens when these two contrasting traditions are brought together. Rather than treating them as separate influences, Chup combines their distinctive patterns into a single composition, creating an unexpected interplay of geometric shapes and intersecting lines.
