With the discontinuation of the beloved Tompkins knit series due to the retirement of the craftsmen responsible for calibrating those machines, Loop & Weft teamed up with a knitting factory in Wakayama, Japan specializing in recreating vintage Sinker knits. Utilizing a Japanese-made Sinker weaving from the 1970s and applying decades of expertise in calibrating said machine marked the birth of the new Loop & Weft Sinker Sweat Series. Featuring soft & voluminous textural properties similar to the former Tompkins series, the weave has a neat loop-knit structure and durable quality common to Sinker weaves.

The final result is an evolved, original brushed fleece fabric. Reminiscent of vintage sweatshirts, the piece will gain exponential character with age and wear. The fabric's special brushed interior provides excellent insulation. The design is inspired by 1960s raglan "after hood" hooded sweatshirts, with straight raglan sleeves allowing for a full range of uninhibited movement. Other details include an attached hood, four-needle stitched pockets and durable triple-needle bound neck. All seam construction is commanded on a four-needle flat seamer machine by skilled craftsmen over countless hours. The dyeing process starts with a natural cotton sweat jersey base, with the hoodies then dyed in Indigo by hand, piece by piece.
