      Traditionally in Japan, cotton fabrics were considered an indispensable commodity. Kimonos were not always seen as simply a statement, reserved for special occasions. Historically, Kimono were worn every day through harsh Winters and scorching Summers. As such, clothing was re-used repeatedly and never thrown away. Even when completely worn out, fabrics were carefully stitched and patched back together. 

      Seeking to recreate the beautiful and intricate patchwork patterns seen in the past, Studio D’Artisan has created their latest “Noragi Army Sashiko” collection by creating a proprietary jacquard weave featuring various fabrics and a vertical/horizontal Sashiko stitch running through ought. 

      As a salute to vintage military shirts, Studio D'Artisan have opted for a much more roomy and boxy silhouette to accommodate a relaxed overall fit.
