Featuring a proprietary Latch Pile knit developed by L&W for S/S'21, the weave applies a high-quality compact yarn to craft the über textured, yet soft, woven knit. Developed on a modified machine with a customized "latch" mechanism, the tightly woven two-ply nature of the original Latch Pile fabric suppresses fabric fluff (or piling) and further shrinkage.

Applying a weaving technique known as skip knitting, this garment will prove to be extra durable with minimal shrinkage, even with extended wear. As the fabric is woven using a single tailor-made machine, the production capacity of this proprietary Latch Pile fabric is exceptionally limited. Exemplifying the softness of this weave is the use of a compact yarn in the weave, a process of twisting the yarns with a machine to ensure each yarn is as straight as possible using a rotating mechanism.

Taking cues from USN grade specifications, the double knee design element with the stitched down knee pads was a standard-issue feature for military-issued sweatpants. Starting with a natural cotton base, the sweatpants are each garment dyed by hand, one by one. Given the textured Latch Pile nature of the fabric and weave, the penetration of indigo is also variegated, but deep, allowing for a wide range of indigo-dyed hues.

**As this is a garment dyed piece, please note that this garment may stain other articles of clothing given the nature of the indigo dye. This bleeding or transfer of color onto other garments when it comes into contact, either directly or during the wash process. We would recommend washing this garment with similar colors.
