Featuring a proprietary Twill face knit developed by L&W for F/W ’20, the fabric reimagines a classic denim weave into a cotton jersey tee. Applying a combination of rare knitting techniques to bring this piece to fruition, both the fabric weaving and garment construction of this tee occurs in Wakayama, Japan.
Taking cues from a vintage Swedish Army undershirt, the unique set-in-sleeve & yoke combination sleeve construction yields an ergonomical fit. A Union Special 4-needle flat seamer machine commands all the seam construction, while the vintage inspired cuff construction completes the detail driven focus that all Loop & Weft garments have become renowned for.
The vintage inspired cuffs are a stand out detail, one that was borrowed from a previous release, the LRC1046 San Joaquin Tee
. The construction of the cuff is meticulous, with four opposing construction knits packed into the small wrist space. Again, a feature borrowed from a vintage military piece, the cuffs are dyed in Indigo for a first!
Starting with a natural cotton base, the tees are garment dyed by hand, one piece at a time. Given the twill face nature of the fabric and weave, the penetration of indigo is also variegated, celebrating a range of indigo dyed hues.
*First model is pictured wearing a size M. He weighs 59kg (130 pounds) and is 178cm (5’11”) tall. Second model is pictured wearing a size XL. He weighs 79kg (174 pounds) and is 185cm (6'0") tall.
**As this is a garment dyed piece, please note that this garment may stain other articles of clothing given the nature of the indigo dye. This bleeding or transfer of color onto other garments can happen when it comes into contact, either directly or during the wash process. We would recommend washing this garment with similar colors.
***Because of the creation of a new pattern for L&W's first 2XL ever produced, and the extra fabric used to construct the piece, there is a price increase only for size XXL.
