Last year, we had introduced our first Selvedge Denim collaboration
with the Peach Boys. Keeping it Winterized, the proprietary 15.7oz. "Frost" Selvedge Denim fabric we developed from yarn packs a serious pop of nep and texture, which we just had to use for an outerwear project when we discovered the fabric at Collect mill.
When it came to reimagining this denim fabric for an outerwear piece, we knew it had to be something different, to really highlight the lengths we went to to get that Selvedge right.
Breaking all the rules, we pay homage to several classic denim jacket types to create a design and silhouette original and unique to your truly. Starting with a Type 2 base, corduroy lined hip pockets match the corduroy collar, a feature usually reserved for a classic Storm Rider's jacket.
With your classic Storm Rider jackets usually featuring a specific pattern, we switch the game with a heavyweight shaggy flannel check lining to give the piece maximum warmth and function.
Taking cues from the historical roots of a classic Storm Rider jacket, the collar features a brown corduroy fabric which is also used in the lining of the hand warmer pockets.
Becoming a signature OD+ addition to all our denim jacket collaborations, the Pink Selvedge cuffs complete the subtle detailing we love on any perfect piece.
Lining the pockets with the Indigo and Kakishibu Jacquard fabrics featuring Momotaro Crest logo embossing as a salute to the collaboration shirts
we had produced earlier this year.
Switching it up for the collab, we placed the Peach Crest rayon tag featured just below the left chest pocket.
Switching it up this time round, we opted for a black leather patch featuring contrast stitching to give that subdued black patch some pop.
