Creating a fresh pair from scratch is always a tedious and time-consuming process. Creating an original Selvedge denim from the yarn up further layers that process infinitely, both in terms of time and dedication. Not only does it take substantially longer to mill a Selvedge denim from “scratch” (or from yarn selection), it requires a certain dedication to the project. Both in terms of time and due to the initial financial investment involved. That being said, the result is always something truly original, unique and exclusive to yours truly.
In our latest team-up with Samurai Jeans, we have created a double indigo 15oz. denim that hits hues like nothing we’ve done yet since our inception 14 years ago. The nature of the composition of rope dyed indigo warp & weft in this latest collaboration is unique in that the depth of indigo is not quite as dark as most conventional rope dyed Selvedge denim we come across, thus giving a slightly lighter overall blue hue to the fabric. With both warp and weft dyed in rope dyed indigo (or “double indigo”), we can guarantee without even running a fade sample that these are going to yield some seriously high contrast fades. As with all Samurai denim, the fabric is dense and resilient, and given the fact that it is Raw & Unsanforized in nature, these will wear well after the initial soak. We’re probably most stoked to see well-worn pieces of these in the future from you guys!
