Layering tradition, textile & tactical construction, our latest collaboration with the Okayama Heavyweights comes in the form of a unique Japanese Green Tea (お茶) dyed Sashiko fabric developed by Momotaro for the upcoming season. Taking Sashiko to the next level, Momotaro fuses the deepest roots of Japanese culture with wearable fashion. The Green Tea used in the dyeing process of this pair, is only able to grow on Japanese soil, making this piece that much more unique. Entirely constructed & garment dyed in Japan, this Sashi-ori fabric started out as a natural color, and has been garment dyed to achieve the rich light brown/beige color it retains. Grown only in Japan, Green Tea is revered for its antioxidant qualities.

The fabric is first garment dyed in a composition containing green tea and pigment amongst other ingredients to give the fabric a beautiful hue of beige/light brown. We loved the hue the fabric hit, and couldn't help but remember the garment dyed Kakishibu Jacquard Kamon pocket bags from our "Frost" collection. The color match worked impeccably, and it was obvious to us to bring these back for this latest collab! With no shortage of details and fabric accents on this pair, we opted to line both the back pockets and the fifth pocket with an Indigo dyed pin check chambray, a fabric that features both blue and beige, celebrating the colors of the fabric face & leather patch! Another element we borrowed from the original "Frost" drop are the custom OD+MJ Tochigi Cowhide Leather patches, vat dyed in Indigo to give them an incredibly deep hue of indigo from the get-go. These are bound to bring a patina party to your pants!

The pants and jacket to this release have become one of my most favorite pieces from Okayama Denim. Loved how they smelled like (and came with) actual tea from the manufacturer. The sashiko is so soft to touch. Love the fit. So much detail goes into these releases. It's insane. 10/10. Thanks so much.

Incredible detailwork from Momotaro and OD on this pair of pants. Absolutely adore the company mon on the inside pockets, the peach stamped rivets, and the overall high quality of product. Expensive but worth every penny.

I was actually recommended this from OD itself after a purchase of Momotaro jeans that I really loved. the fit, fabric and colour on this pair is amazing, they are heavy feeling despite the 13.5oz weight but I love how comfy and warm they are as I've worn them on cooler days outside. I loved the attention to detail from the pocket lining, rivets and more. Also very cool that it comes with a little bag of green tea from Okayama itself.

I have the matching jacket and got it when it was first released, but at that time I missed these as they went out of stock. I really enjoyed the fabric as a jacket so I wanted to have the matching pants. These are possibly my favorite pair of Sashiko trousers that I have ever gotten and I have 3 pairs, with two being the Studio D'Artisan Sashiko and I can easily say that these are my favorite of the bunch by far. There is a slight elasticity to the Momotaro Sashiko that makes them far more comfortable for daily wear. Additionally they are lighter weight which makes them far more palatable for extended wears. These feel more akin to a comfortable but dressy pair of sweatpants and look a thousand times better. I have never been disappointed with the OD collabs that I have purchased but these and the matching jacket stand a shoulder above the rest. POSITIVE WARNING: These are really dyed with Green tea. The first couple wears you WILL smell like green tea. This is amazing and better than any cologne, my partner and I adored the smell.
