The Studio D'Artisan "No. 100" WWII Selvedge Jacket is a nod to the rugged simplicity of denim jackets produced during the 1940s, when wartime rationing led to the streamlining of denim production. During this period, factories were forced to simplify various details, as many materials were diverted to the war effort. Skilled sewing craftsmen were often assigned to make military uniforms, leaving jacket production to less experienced workers, which resulted in uneven stitching and a rougher finish.

Studio D'Artisan has meticulously recreated this aesthetic by replicating the imperfect construction techniques of the era. The jacket is crafted from SDA's flagship 15oz. "No. 100" Selvedge denim fabric, which has gone through a thorough wash process to evoke the look and feel of 1940s denim jackets.
