This collaboration started from the soul of any pair of jeans - the fabric. With this particular 'G3' Selvedge denim produced on a Toyoda shuttle loom known as the G3, this shuttle loom is considered the first and finest example of a non-automatic changing shuttle on a Selvedge denim producing machine. The result is a highly irregular and hairy denim featuring ample slub, a combination sure to yield some epic patina with wear.
The details was where we wanted to tell the story, and we didn't hold back despite the rising costs to production. Taking cues from our favorite shirt, we asked SDA to source left over fabric from that previous production to use as the pocket bags on our collaboration jeans. Beyond the aesthetically pleasing feature, the Natural Indigo "Kasezome" fabric is a heavyweight textile, guaranteeing durability over time.
Half lined back pockets featuring the same Natural Indigo fabric, Selvedge button fly construction and single belt loop with Red & White tonal stitching pay homage to the OD logo. The last detail we added to this pair during the design process was the waistband leather patch. Opting for the subtle and unexpected, we sourced a natural pony hair leather to apply our "OD + SDA" custom logo to our first collaboration with the famed Osaka 5 maker.
Now available in this updated Relax Tapered model, sharing the same silhouette as the SD-108.
