Honoring our friends from SDA and their 40 years of producing some of the finest Selvedge garments coming out of Japan, we follow up our 40th Anniversary "Matcha" Jeans collaboration by working with our favorite fabric in a totally fresh way.

Kasezome is the art of skein dyeing, a hand dyeing method by wrapping undyed yarns into a loose coil and dipping them into a vat of Indigo (in this instance). The yarns are dyed to the core while still retaining their original texture, a feat only possible when the yarns are meticulously dyed by hand.

The hat itself is the highest quality cap I’ve ever held and even though it’s unstructured, the weight of the Sashiko fabric gives it some nice rigidity which I really like. All the details from the selvedge edge on the strap to the trim on the inside really elevates the cap to a whole other level. To me it’s absolutely worth the price and I definitely see myself wearing this for the rest of my life. I’ll be sure to shop from these guys more in the near future

I bought this lovely cap to go with my Sashiko jeans I have ordered . It is a perfect fit and exceptionally well made with amazing attention to detail . It is very unusual, I have not seen anything like it before , so with it being limited edition I doubt I will spot anyone else wearing one . Roll on the Spring so I can start wearing it .

This is a handsome ballcap made — very obviously — of high-quality fabric dyed in true-blue indigo; its unstructured crown is a welcome feature that adds a nice, casual touch to its high style. This is a one-of-a-kind ballcap that I am pleased to have and to wear. My only (minor) disappointment is that the interior of this ballcap could have been finished more neatly (I had to trim both wandering thread from beside the seaming tape, and extra fabric from behind the sweatband — which fabric had resulted in a bit of unwanted bulk at the outside edges of the visor. The ordering and shipping of this ballcap — as is typically impressive at Okayama Denim — was easy; fast; and problem-free.
