A meeting point between two very different but complementary Japanese sensibilities. Fullcount bring the fabric and construction knowledge, Fumito Ganryu the design perspective shaped by years under Comme des Garçons and Junya Watanabe. The second piece from the Fullcount x Fumito Ganryu collection, is a re-work of Fullcount's 4810 Selvedge Chambray Shirt. Based on USN chambray shirts issued to American naval servicemen in the 1940s, this utilitarian workwear piece has quietly influenced Japanese casual clothing for decades. Fumito Ganryu takes that base and pushes it in a new direction, introducing a two-tone panel construction that breaks up the classic chambray silhouette and adds a layer of considered design tension to what would otherwise be a straightforward reproduction. Ventilated construction at the chest pockets adds another functional element that reads as naturally integrated rather than applied.
