Featuring an original double-faced knit thermal woven on a rare knitting machine in Wakayama, Japan, the extra-thick fabric is woven using high-quality combed yarns. With the silhouette saluting thermal shirts commonly found post-WWII in the United States, the process of combing the yarns removes excess cotton fibers during the yarn spinning process to yield a smooth and lustrous finish. That coupled with the unique rib knitting produces a structured fabric with high density, allowing for a piece that will maintain shape and durability even after extended wears & washes. 

The ribbed neckline & cuffs coupled with the lockstitch torso hem provide added structure to the already durable fabric, guaranteeing a garment that will age gracefully with you. Utilizing a unique tucked sewing method known as "Kanako knit" for the ribbing, the piece seamlessly blends the finest knitting available from Japan's cotton jersey hometown of Wakayama with sewing techniques developed over decades of production expertise.

The process starts with a natural cotton jersey base, with the double-faced thermals then dyed in Indigo by hand, piece by piece. With the double-faced nature of the fabric featuring contrasting textures, the result is a penetration of the indigo dye in a variegated fashion, celebrating a range of Indigo-dyed hues.
