The leather used in Master-piece's latest "Facet" series is produced in small quantities for a reason. Using rare domestic Holstein leather that is vegetable-tanned and oil-treated, each piece is then individually brushed by a craftsman to bring out a distinctive wood-grain surface expression. Production runs to around ten pieces per day at most, a constraint that comes directly from the time the hand-finishing process requires. The leather deepens and develops a richer patina with use, making each wallet a genuinely long-term object rather than something that peaks on the day you buy it.
The wallet itself is an L-shaped zip design, compact and practical, with enough internal organisation for daily carry without unnecessary bulk. The exterior panelling is cut and pieced using the Master-piece "M" as its geometric inspiration, creating a multi-faceted, angular leather composition that gives the wallet its name and its visual identity. The zipper is a YKK Excella, finished with a polished surface for a smooth, refined action and a natural sheen that suits the overall aesthetic. Three card slots sit on each side of the interior, and the coin compartment is open and easy to read at a glance.
