The Soundman “Birmingham” is one of the brand's signature coverall jackets, inspired by the uniforms of workers at British ironworks during the early 20th century. The design retains the practical character of traditional industrial workwear while incorporating elements of tailored pattern cutting, particularly around the sleeve construction and overall shaping. The result is a work jacket that retains its industrial character while being easy to incorporate into a wide range of everyday styles.

For this version, Soundman swaps the signature Sashiko fabric for a high-density cotton moleskin, dyed with a combination of indigo and black sulfur dyes to create a deep, almost black-blue tone. A ball bio wash is then applied to the finished garment, softening the dense fabric and giving it the appearance of something already well lived-in. With continued wear, the combination of indigo and sulfur dyes will develop further character and depth.
