For those who love the idea of heavyweight fades but not necessarily the weight itself, Big John has developed an intriguing alternative. Their latest model takes the familiar appeal of selvedge denim and reimagines it through an 8oz. Selvedge Chambray fabric, delivering a remarkably lightweight pair of jeans that sacrifices none of the character Denimheads expect.

Woven on old-school shuttle looms, the fabric combines the dry hand feel and breathability of chambray with the authentic construction and visual depth of Japanese selvedge denim. The result is a fabric that feels effortless from day one, yet still possesses the texture, irregularity, and evolving character that makes Japanese denim so rewarding to wear. While considerably lighter than conventional denim, the fabric develops its own unique fade patterns over time, with subtle whiskering, puckering, and tonal variation emerging through regular wear. Cut in Big John's newly developed Wide Straight silhouette, the jeans offer generous room through the top block and thigh before falling naturally into a relaxed wide straight leg.
